Mekafraks: Created by the Royal God-Lords of Venus to maintain their outlying territories, the Mekafraks are Synthezoids that use the power of Technokinesis (creation and mind manipulation of living machines) and tthe ability to constantly upgrade their physiology as well. Though originally servitors of Venus, the Mekafraks were granted their freedom thousands of years ago. In the original Martian war against Earth, the Mekafraks, and their mastery of mechanized technology, were instrumental allies to ensure Earth's survival against the Martian onslaught. However, after the war, the Mekafraks society was broken by the exhaustive cost of waging war against a tireless foe like the Martians, and their elite forces - the Killers of the Red Sands.

Their home world was polluted and mined to the point of self-collapse, and the Mekafraks were forced into an exodus into the stars. With the loss of their home world, the Mekafraks also lost most of their prized technology and soon gained a reputation as the vagrants of space. Along with the indifference they encountered with the races amongst the stars, their nomadic journey taxed the remnants of their population year after year. The Mekafraks race dwindled until only 1% of the original population of almost a billion Mekafraks came to what would be their new home: an abandoned scrap colony, where the junk of the universe once flowed. The Mekafraks took the meager resources available and eked out an existence, offering their services for the most menial tasks in space, and usually for the lowest wage as well.

Since then, they have worked to rebuild their own society and culture. Many Mekarfraks have immigrated to the Electric Abyss located on Gaia - they are helping in the effort to transform and heal the planet from its impending death. In exchange they are given pieces of the Core, which is helping evolve the Mekafraks at an accelerated rate. Research into the Core is also providing avenues to recreate part of their home world on Gaia.

Though working to undo the reputation they have gained as nomads and vagabonds - Mekafraks still find themselves shunned in many upper echelons of interstellar society. However, because of their gallant history in helping defend the Earth in times past - Mekafraks find a greater measure of success there. As a result, some find acceptance amid Earth-centered factions as well, such as the Omega Wild and Omni Core.
